Wow! That's no small feat! I would assume that he is doing well? It amazing what docs. can do these days! And not to mention how able to human body is to heal and adjusts to everything that is thrown at it...

Yeah, he recovered very well and seemingly hasn't had any issues post-surgery. He just had his first birthday, too :)

Amazing story, thanks for making me cry this morning.

OK, I wasn't going to be the first one to admit that... but, yeah, you got me too.

Thanks a lot!

Nothing wrong with a good cry now and then. Especially considering what Jeff has done.

I'm inpressed. You are and incredible man to give so freely of yourself. This is the kind of story I love to read. You have restored my faith in humanity.

Well done! Well done indeed!
And so it is...

I think he should be played by Ewan McGregor... and every 15 or twenty minutes he should throw Hayden Christiansen into a Volcano!

Wow... Thanks Gorb!! I never knew a site like that existed. I'm happy to help the cause! :)

I'll have to admit though... i'm still trying to get used to the word, "hero". It's almost surreal!

And thanks again for all the praises SG!

I don't want to hijack this, but someone on Kotaku made a pretty valid point... what if there were a charitable organization that would be gamer-centric that donated money to families of tragedies of school shootings. I know a school shooting charity wouldn't bode well, but if it were to basically be an all around relief type deal. Hurricane Katrina, Tsunami, earthquakes, shootings, donating to hospitals and to disease research, all organized by gamers.

How would somebody go about setting that up? I've got a crap ton of ideas, I don't know how well it would work, but it seems that it would be a valiant effort to put gamers in a positive light, as opposed to what Fox news tries to do all the time.

Also in the comments, there's a debate about why it's gamer related. One person said if the media can count gamers as some kind of horrible sub species everytime a crime is committed, we should be able to do the same thing when we do something good.
