Gamertags
Many members who want to show their support for SG have added SG to their gamertag. However, for new members, we ask that you are a contributing member with SG for at least three months before doing so. Also, as a courtesy, many members have posted to ask the group whether they can append SG to their gamertag. You may want to do that as well.
Events
Many members have created gaming events such as tournaments and have used "SG" in the event name. If you plan to host an event and want to publicize it as an SG event, we ask that you contact a member of the mod/admin team for approval first. This is especially important when the event involves folks outside of SG, but also applies to events intended only for SG members.
Clan and Group Names
The "Affiliated Groups" list below includes names of clans and gaming groups affiliated with SG. If you want to create a new clan or group in SG, please follow this process:
- Check the list below. First, consider joining an existing group.
- If one of the existing groups does not meet your needs, submit a PM to someone in the SG leadership group (mods or admins) with the request to create a new group.
- Include the name of the group, reason for creating the group, related game, and other similar details in the request.
- The leadership group will review your request. If necessary, the leadership group may post about the proposal to general SG membership to get their feedback.
Affiliated groups
SG was formed in anticipation of Halo 2. As such, we have quite a few Halo 2 clans. However, as other games have become popular, some of these groups have evolved into more than just Halo clans and often gather for other games. There are also some clans specifically for other games, such as Chromehounds.Although each clan has it's own personality, it all comes down to who you feel most comfortable with. For more info, click on the clan names below... you can also check the rosters to see who's in what clan:
SG Corps
Membership in SG Corps is open to any SG'er who has read the pinned topics in the SG Corps forum. SG Corps plays H2 on Wednesday nights from 9 to about 10:30 Eastern. Most of them are also members of the Cap League, a league that matches H2 players of similar skills for organized yet casual team-play. Most of the time these days, though, they're a subset of SG'ers who tend to play at the same time and tend to enjoy the same things in their games, most of all that they put fun and camaraderie above the desire to win. They tend to be a little older than the average SG'er, and tend not to trash-talk, even in fun. They play a bunch of different games these days, most of them for the 360.
SG Fire Team
You can usually find members of SG Fire Team online playing Halo 2 just about any night of the week, but Wednesday night is "clan night". Fire Teamers usually prefer matchmaking, but they're pretty laid back and enjoy customs as well. And let's not forget about fierce interclan matches! Contact Epatt or check out their website at www.sgfireteam.com for more info.SG CrossfireA group affiliated with SG Fire Team, which also shares forums with the Fire Team.
SG Trepidation
One of the original and oldest clans here at SG and one that has grown into a very close group of friends. You can click here to visit the website or PM SG Hollywood524. TRP is always open for membership and play mostly on EST from 6 PM -12 PM. We are not into competitive play were about having fun and making friends.
