Well, I don't hate RZ certs themselves. They save me money, but I hate the program because Best Buy is the spawn of Satan and they do everything they can to make it hard to redeem them. The way they structure their programs and treat their customers is total bullshit.

Case in point: They issued a new RZ certificate on the 3rd and deducted the 250 points from my account, but I can't print it yet. It will be 3-5 days until I can do that. Even though my points from purchases don't show up for 35 days (which is also bullshit). I can see one or the other. They want to verify the purchase "goes through" before rewarding the points, ok. But why make me wait to print the GD certificates? Because Premier Silver Members get to "bank" points and can print right away that's why. They want me to "upgrade" by spending $2500 in a year there so I can print right away. It's a "feature" of the upgraded membership. The most expensive membership program known to man: $2500/year to become a Silver RZ member.

That's bullshit. I hate Best Buy. This is what I get for giving them another chance.

I had the red rings and got my console repaired and mailed back.Do I have to redownload all my content? When I have the ethernet cable plugged in and I'm online,my stuff is there but if I unplug and go offline it turns into a demo.

Apparently, edelweiss is famous around the world.
I'd never heard of it.
With much "ooohing" and "aaahing" I excitedly took what I thought was a pic of this elusive flower in a place called Leukerbad, Switzerland.

It was at this moment that George Washington told me to calm down. He also told me that I was an idiot.

Feeling somewhat bewildered following an embarrasing putdown by an inanimate object, I aimlessly wandered the streets of Zermatt.

Onward and upward my footsteps led me. Along my ascent I was rewarded by the astonishing spectacle of this river of ice.

Bouyed by the beauty of this alpine wilderness, I ventured forth to attain new vistas.
Like...The Matterhorn.
Ain't she a beauty!

But alas, my feet were fucking hurting and I needed to take my shoes off.
Just as I was about to take off the shoes the sky opened.
An angel from Central Park commanded that I cease and desist for fear of the noxious fumes that would be unleashed.

I just got a call from my dad.

My mom just had an accident at work and she passed away about 30 minutes after. It was sudden, she was perfectly healthy and in her early 50's.

We live 12 hours away so I can't get there fast. But we're flying out tomorrow morning.

I have a sister in Belfast that I have to call and tell. My other sister is 17 and was the only one there when it happened.

Please keep us in your prayers. I'm still in shock.

The new 360 Slim/Kinect "bundle"

So I've been thinking about upgrading to the new Slim by getting the Kinect/Slim bundle, but I just noticed that it has a 4GB hard drive. Is that right? 4GB? Who the hell wants a 4GB hard drive? I'm using 60GB of my 120GB HDD right now. I keep more than 4GB of demos/trials on my hard drive. WTF?

My wife and I are planning to spend a few days in Ohio in October. Any thoughts on a nice place to visit for a few days? All I really know about major attractions in Ohio are the Football Hall of Fame and Ch�teau Jamo. We'd prefer to stick to the eastern side of the state to keep the drive reasonable. Thanks!

Question About Tax Deductions

So I'll be donating clothes very soon to a goodwill store. I was informed that upon the trade, I'd be getting back a receipt which I could use to write off on my taxes that I'll be filing next year.

I've done a little digging but I guess my wording of the situation is wrong so I come here for help.
I know write-offs are a huge benefit when you know you have to PAY taxes for the last year, but in my case, I always get money back. If I use this receipt as a write-off would it give me a little bit more money or would it be worthless to even try since the IRS always ends up owing me instead?
