Gaming

Favorite Game (Current)? - DC Universe Online [PS3]

Favorite Game (All Time)? - Unreal Tournament

How did you choose your GT? - It's my name. I got my name by mashing a keyboard when I got my first (non-Tandy) computer at age 24 so I could use the Windows 3.1 MS Word that my brother lent me. Stealing things is not a crime.

What is your gaming set up like? - My gaming set up seems like a set up for someone who plays alot more than I get to. My dungeon is unfinished and it currently has a 32" Sharp, my newer, white 360 Arcade (bought from an older, brown Iced Pitch Black) and all the Rawk Band stuff that my nieces and nephews use to make me look terrible. This is where I play when I want to shout (not angry should, happy shouting with many laughing. I like to laugh). My living-room has a 46" Sony, PS3, and old, thrice repaired 360 and a Wii and a Leapfrog Explorer. Until June 2010, I never had a place to game that had anything other than a computer desk chair and now I have couches and the difference is amazing. It's far more relaxing as evident by my quickly dropping skill level and my tendency to fall asleep.

What games are you looking forward to? - That's an excellent question. I love excellent questions, they really make you think about stuff.

What Xbox 360 Achievement are you most proud of? - Completing Blazing Angels (4/7 w/ 525 points) with no cheats because that game was excruciatingly bad and terribly frustrating. So, I guess I'm proud to be a sucker. I really love the 1000K I got in Lego Batman because I played that exclusively with my daughter and not only did we 100% it (only game I ever did that with), we did so with her freezing me every 5 seconds with Mr. Freeze. It was a TON of fun with alot of yelling and even more of my wife laughing AT me.

What does your significant other think about your gaming? - She thinks it's silly and she thinks I yell too loud and swear too much (not infront of the kids though, seriously). Otherwise, she doesn't really care. When I do a league or something similar it starts to wear on her because not being able to do anything on every "X night" for the next "Y weeks" will sometimes inconvenience her. But she and her family who all delight in mocking me, know that it's overall a good thing and a much better hobby than my previous one...wait for iiiiiiiiit....Bowling for Prostitutes.

SG Related

How did you arrive at SG? - By way of dinologic. He, Hova and myself (who've known each other since 87 and 84ish respectively) were hanging about and I brought over an XBOX and Halo CE. Joehoeva yelled at me alot, but they instantly got better than me and soon bought their own systems. When H2 was set to arrive, dinologic had become pretty obsessed with it and was looking into all sort of stuff. He found SG and by the time H2 was out we was all about playing and he was all about learning about the game. I was very hesitant, but eventually started ghost reading the threads and played a few SG rooms and eventually joined. The rest is art history ( <- really unfunny reference to chewing gum commercial).

What is it that makes you keep coming back to the SG Forums? - The laughs. People be forever making me laugh. Also, it's kind of like having a quick chat with 500 of your friends a few times a day at your convenience. Also, to see what people am are doing game-wise and to schedule or decide on any games or nights to play. Finally, to write silly things on.

What SG thread is most memorable to you? Why? - I can genuinely think of quite a few; some hilarious and some arguments but families fight (they just don't have documentation of it) so that was always fun to see (not really, but sometimes a little). I think I'd have to say the thread where people revealed things about themselves that we might not know. Like how both Ace McKay and I are related to Mary Queen of Scots and therefor he owes me 37 birthday presents. I think it was called "Reveal Things About Yourself That We Might Not Know." Of course, it eventually had to be locked cause goofers be forever goofing around.

Best SG Moment? - Early in SG no one knew what anyone looked like (except Jamo from the muscle pic, afro ninja, trocks and just a VERY few other folks that met up or posted pictures). At some point (back when we had clans) on FireTeam's site, Mikey Aliis was first to post his photo and it was a GLORIOUS shot of him shirtless drinking a gallon of milk, quickly. It was the most greatest thing ever-ever. Eventually more and more of us posted photos and before you knew it, most of us knew what most of SG looked like and while it took away from the mystery, it added alot to the friendships. More so, just meeting people in general! I've been fortunate to meet a bunch through Flings, Round Up (singular, unfortunately) and while traveling for work has been absolutely the coolest (EVERYWHERE I went there was someone to hang with).

Meeting everyone definitely makes me less uncomfortable when I tell a non-member friend or relative about my friend that's a youth pastor or a Canadian scientist or has a Creepy Purple Van or buys all electronics always and then upgrades everything by returning/selling previous item or that's an amazing gamer despite missing fingers or that's attempting to buy and listen to every album on a huge list despite how awful some of them may be or that's (get this) half-Japanese. So while the breaking of the seal of not knowing what people looked like was probably my best moment, getting to hang out with members is just the absolute best of fun, even if they're dicks. ../forums/public/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif

Personal Hobbies, other than Gaming? - Seeing movies, TV, music, collecting all sorts of things, chillin' with my ladies in the house, making shirts or dumb pictures, videos or (occasionally) songs, or just sitting around on my Sybian. You know, the normal stuff.

Favorite movie/TV show/book? - City of Lost Children/Twin Peaks/Shell Silverstein's A to Z

Favorite gift you've ever received? - Probably the gift of Life. But it didn't last long because that dumb-ass spinner broke off. My dad got me a snowboard when I turned 14 when they were still really pricey and you couldn't use them on any trails without a photo ID that said you passed a test. I'll post it at some point because I'm on a roll of posting every photo ever taken of me. My wife CONSISTENTLY gets me the best, most expensive presents every year. When I was 22 she got me a really nice Tascam 4 track that I used to make the most glorious music you ears will never hear (until I eventually post those too when I run out of pictures).

You can press a button that will make any one person explode. Who would you blow up? Why? - Probably Megatron because I think I'd do a much better job at leading the Decepticons. He's the worst Man/Gun evil leader of all time and he uses a walkman for killing instead of rocking. That's like using a vibrator for brushing your teeth.

What real life achievement are you most proud of? - Surviving (thus far) and having a wonderful, kind immediate family and after a long, difficult struggle; being able to bring them somewhere where we can be happy, keeping my business afloat after a fire and other problems, maintaing (sort of) and eventually paying off ALL losses and debt through hard work, restoring my credit and finally purchasing a home. So yes, those nine things would be my single greatest achievement.

What do you do for a living (and/or) what is your dream job? - I'm a video editor and I do some production. My company, LOL Productions ../forums/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif uses part time and free lance workers and shooters to do a variety of project that sometimes are much of a variety [the whole boring story including the fire is in the thread http://www.seasonedg...showtopic=33314, though this does not include the current updates in location (which is my unfinished basement) and changes to the crew and and jobs].

My dream job would be full time hobbyist / part-time philanthropist. I could very, very easily fill my days with projects.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what 3 things would you bring with you? Why? - A gun and two bullets. Incase I miss. I'm pretty pessimistic and I'd probably give up immediately unaware that I was actually on St. Lucia an hour before Spring Break and a new season of The Real World.

What would you want to be written on your tombstone? - "Jaleeb Caru is Dead. For Reals." - In fact, I made logic and Hova promise me that if I died they had to make that the title of the post informing my SG pals and gals.

Share one thing interesting thing about yourself that many folks might not know. - I'm crying on the inside. Deeper down, I'm laughing about crying on the inside while laughing on the outside because I think it's hilariously pathetic and totally awesome. Also, I'm a Bolivian from Bolivia and I like to eat a proper sopapilla. Furthermore, I have poor grammar and I think I'm one million times funnier than I know in my heart of hearts, I am.

When you were little, who was your favorite super hero and why? - Batman. If anyone had to answer "why" to their superhero, they didn't pick the damn Batman. Also, Aquaman, cause I like swimming and underwater life (conversely, anyone who answered Aquaman should be required to answer "why").

What was the last thing you said to someone? - "Can this wait, honey? I'm working down here!!!" I shouted it upstairs and then continued to do this, making me a lazy, scumbag and a liar (and Henry Rollins hates liars).

Name something that you lied to your parents about that you still haven't come clean on? - I got caught for almost everything and while I lied by omission alot, I don't really think there's anything I can share. I did used to take his car out all the time when I was 14-15 but I drove stick like it was a euphemism and I only got caught the last time and I guess he thought it was the first. Oh, I did some murder also but he never even asked me if I murdered anyone, so is that really lying?

What is your go-to karaoke/Rock Band song? - Definite tie: I Am The Walrus and Under Pressure.[/size]

When I first saw that commercial, I thought it might be Jaleeb. But then I noticed that the guy was wearing pants so I dismissed him as a poser.

AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHa. No way that dude is me. First off, he's talented. Secondary, as shite as his hair is, it's still mega-worlds better than my nappy ass, frizzy bird's nest of a Brillo head.

Bleech!!! That Megatron answer is especially awful. Re-reading that was as bad as hearing your own voice on an answering machine. This is precisely why I never proof read anything or I'd never post.
